John is a graduate of the Advanced Genesis 3 Design School, and was a contributing author of the NSPI Builders Manual, the "bible" of proper pool design, published by the NSPI for the spa and pool industry - now called the APSP (Association of Pool and Spa Professionals). He was a member of the Swimming Pool Subcommittee of the American Concrete Institute. He was also a consultant to the Consumer Products Safety Commission.
